Okay, not really, but maaaaannnn has this tile been hard to get out! This is what you get after an hour of chipping with a hammer and chisel. And by "you" I mean JWH. Clearly. I whacked a tile with a hammer and the tile just laughed.
After another half hour of fine work, this is what you get.
So, after 2 hours of chipping and clanging and banging and just utter, utter filth. We are here:
To state the obvious...we have reconsidered the scope of this endeavor. We have scaled down to removing 6 tiles: the 6 most egregious (minus the clam - it stays even though it is most horrible...it's just too close to the granite to risk a chip) and leaving the others. So, goodbye to the sad sand dollar, the turtle playing volleyball, and their pals. Fishies, well, they will remain, but they are not awful, awful. Just awful.
