So, as you know, I got the Ikea Ekorre swing and hand rings via Ebay. And, while I waited for them to come, I did a little prep work. Oh, and a lot of bugging JWH about where we should put them. In the end, I took a little time while no one was home and hung ribbons from the ceiling in all possible locations. It was a great exercise to see what felt right.
And to tell me what had to move to accommodate the new toy. Of course it was the world's heaviest dresser that had to move. I swapped it with the kid's bookshelf (From Land of Nod, btw). Why? Because she plays in front of her bookshelf, a lot. And the under swing/rings area should be more tidy. No one wants to land on Playmobile. Really.
Oh, and I never loved the dresser where it was. It was all the heavy stuff on one side of the room. And, going clear across the room from the closet was a pain, especially when the play table was in full-crapalanche mode. (That's "crap-a-lanche" - a family word.)
So, the move resulted in this:
So far, the change is a good one. The play table and bookshelf are both out of line-of-sight from the door. Huge win.
The crappy peeling radiator? Guh, I think I swore last year that I'd get on that. I never notice it in real life, but in pictures? Well...I am so tempted to PhotoShop this prior to posting. But that would take time. And I ain't got any...
Don't forget other fun family words, like "shitsaster" and "craptastic"!
