Or, really, blogging about maintenance.
I know that when I left you in April-ish I was mid-project on a few things. The mudroom curtains for one. No, they are not done. I have yet to even buy the thread. I was also going to cut the legs off the bench and hang some pictures and there was talk of painting stripes in the hall closets... But the good weather and the shameful state of the yard drew me outside for long, tiring stretches of my weekends.
Still, the state of affairs inside started to make me twitchy. Little things:
The hanging of the new curtains in the living room left me with some holes to fill and paint to touch up. So I did that.
Then, since I had the Manchester Tan paint out I went and fixed this little problem, too:
And then I got out the trim paint and went around and hit that where needed, including here (another victim of the curtain switcheroo).
And then, when I had the spackle out I decided to finally get rid of this weird little bracket fo a non-existent smoke alarm. I do not have a picture of it. I was going to take one but I was then distracted by a 5 year old who found it very existential to talk about a bracket for an alarm that was not there and how that really meant it was not a bracket for anything. Ad nauseum. But here it is post removal, mid-spackle. See? It's that weird spot that looks like a blemish on your monitor.
I recognize that spackling this area will likely mean paiting the whole ceiling, but, luckily, it's a small spot. Maybe a training ground for my plans to repaint the (frankly, quite gross) kitchen ceiling this fall?
So, you see. I have been a busy little gal. I think the difference is that I typically do this sort of little job just in the course of life. But being sick for so long meant that they all kind of piled up. I'm back on track though. Stop by next week for a mudroom curtain update!
