We went to Ikea this weekend. (I know, I know, again???) This trip, though, was more of a, "well, we are passing right by it...what do we need?" kinda thing. And the answer, it seems, was:
- a larger drum shade for the mudroom
- a wooden deck box for the Bun's sandbox toys
- hooks of the type you see above you
Yes, I am thinking of installing a swing in the mudroom. Why the heck not, right?
My plan could still fizzle, as it almost did when Ikea was out of the Ekorre swing...but the post I liked to above makes it seem like I can get this done for about $30 and a trip to the hardware store. So, we will see this weekend if JWH is up to the task. I could also just buy the Ikea one on eBay for $40. Still thinking on that...lazy versus frugal....hmmmm.
And, I'm also considering a less dramatic version of this, still using the hook, and still mounting a child-play thing to the ceiling. How about...
(Amazon)
A climbing rope?
This kind of plays right in to JWH's plan to make her a world class climber by age 8, so I would not be surprised if we go this way. But, we need to consider safety, too. You typically do not come crashing to the floor from a swing, but a rope is another story altogether.
Any opinions welcome.
How about climbing rope AND a swing?!

Oh, sure, if I had room for that!

Putting up an indoor swing in an entryway is quite unusual, but still, it’s ideal for those who live with kids. That will somehow spice things up regarding the looks of a house or an apartment. It’s almost been a month since then, I wish to see the outcome when it’s done. =)
