I hope I'm not spoiling Molly's reveal post. But, the result of my guest appearance was not a landslide victory for the new rug. But, we decided to live with it a bit, and if we side with the haters (okay, the "maybe you should keep looking-ers") we can move this rug to the guest room or office or even the Bun's room someday. It's versatile.
For now, though, the new rug is so happy and bright. And, the living room? Well, it feels like a "room" now. We sit in there, we play Legos on the rug. Domestic bliss, really.
I did not add this to the Waffle, since I wanted a pure reaction to the rug choice on it's own merits. And weighed against the non-movable items in the rooms (the other rugs and furniture). But the entry? Well, the green, Sweet Daphne, and the rug, Flor's Needlepoint Stripe in Laurel....well, they are changeable, Easily so.
So, maybe now is the time? If the bulls-eye rug is the new star of my living room, the entry needs to take a step back. Maybe the green can stay. Maybe. I do love it. But the Flor tiles? Meh. They lasted almost 4 years and they are pretty filthy. I'm okay with a change.
So, change!
Some options:
(Flor: Twill Ride in Vanilla/Hazelnut, Take a Ribbing in Graphite, Take a Ribbing in Taupe, Coming Along in Grey)
Molly, you out there??? Any thoughts?
First off, I LOVE your choice of the Bullseye rug. That's how I came across your site. I am coveting the rug, and hoping to put it in my own front living room, so I was googling images to see how others have used it. Second, I, too, will have to add an entry way rug that will be visible in the same room, and had thought of Flor. I like graphite, but maybe a lighter gray would do. Personally, i'm not loving "coming along." Check out warm welcome in mineral. BTW, how did you change the upholstery on the blue chairs? love the more neutral chairs with the bold rug.

Hi Jennifer, Thanks! I'm loving the rug. I'll look at Mineral. The graphite was my top pick but I thought it might be too dark. As for the upholstery, I found a guy on Yelp. If you are in Boston area Id be happy to send you his contact info.
