My Moroccan Room post and kitchen post got me thinking about sharing some more before and afters. Before, in this case, being how things were when we bought the place, and after being once we tweaked it to what I'll call "stage 1." Meaning no major do-wops, just making it mine.
First, the master bedroom and hall at current Holiday House. This is the old owners stuff, not terrible, but for a childless, grown woman, she had a lot of stuffed animals about the place and a very "playful" style of decorating. And I found the yellow, in real life, to be a bit overpowering with the blond wood everywhere.
My stage 1 tweaks:
Oh, and the hall, side by side before and after:
The color I used, as you may well know is Gray Horse. Love, love, love it. Warm, greenish gray. And I think it makes the wood warmer, too, with the yellow it had a kind of "pickled" feel.
Wow, little tweaks made a massive difference!
