Could I live with a purple room?

I have come to terms with pink. I think, if it was pale enough, I could even handle a pink room in my house. But purple? It seems like every tween girl, at some point, begs for a purple room. Not that every mom capitulates, but what if you were inclined to? Is there a way to make purple not horrible?

A few months ago I would have said, "nope," but then I started noticing that purple could be okay if paired with the right neutral. And I think that neutral is a yellowish green. Call me crazy, but first see my evidence:

I think I'm on to something here. If the bun someday wants purple, I won't panic, I'll simply start shopping for green and yellow accessories!
