I like a list. I swear I'd be a much more creative person if I did not perpetually have 32 different running lists in my head. Even at yoga, while the others are doing Shavasana, I'm mentally reviewing my lists. When the others rouse themselves and say, "great meditation!" I simply try to stop mouthing the words "toothpaste, birthday card, charge my cell phone" so as to not arouse suspicion. And so they don't think I'm insane.
So, since in the land of yoga, they tell you to "acknowledge" and "look at" your thoughts (before supposedly clearing them away, but, yeah, whatever) here is my project list for this still new year:
- New rug for under the kitchen table
- Paint the woodwork and doors in the upstairs hall
- Get a plasterer to smooth the ceilings in the dining room and living room
- Spackle and paint the ceiling at the stair landing
- Re-do the guest room
- Replace the light fixture in the office and put that one in the hall
- New mulch for the whole dang yard
- Finish the fireplace mantel
- Get the heat stains off the 2 stricken tables
- Refinish the antique desk
- Fix the gutters
- Touch up the trim up at the eaves of the house
- Replace the mailbox
- Replace the hatchway cover
- Get the area rugs cleaned
- Fix the giant crack in the master bedroom ceiling
- Add landscape lighting to the walkway
- Get new panels for the side exterior lantern
- Remove the space heater from the back hall wall
- Renovate the hall bath, or at the very least get a new blind or curtain in there...
I know some of these sound sooo sexy. But trust me, it's all good. Hope you'll stick around to see the before and after pics as I get it all done!*
*No one is to tell JWH of the existence of this list. It will scare the living bejeezus out of him.
(Photo is something I got from etsy. It hangs over a light switch and makes me smile.)
Yes, it will. I had no idea.
